Lionel Messi has finished his first season with Inter Miami. The football hero helped his new team win the Leagues Cup. It is a huge achievement for the club considering that Inter Miami are two points from the bottom of the table when Messi arrives in July.
Messi has finished the season with 11 goals and two assists in all competitions. All after playing 14 games. He has managed just one goal in six MLS appearances.
Unfortunately Inter Miami finished the season 14th out of 15 teams in the Eastern Conference. It means they have failed to qualify for the MLS qualifiers. That also means they will not be able to win the MLS Cup this year.
You may be wondering how a team that finished 14th could escape relegation? Well in the US teams cannot be relegated or promoted to MLS.
However due to Messi influence Inter Miami tickets are sold out for the 2024 season which starts between February and March next year.
Inter Miami tickets previously cost $ 485 for 2023. Ticket prices this season have doubled to $ 884 with fans complaining bitterly online. But you can not buy today. Everyone wants to see Messi play.
